| Applying for a Student Visa
| | | | | | Applying for a student visa is a 3-step process:
1. First you will need to present yourself at the school, take our placement test and be placed in a class.
2. We then send a registration letter to the GNIB (Garda National Immigration Bureau). This registration letter informs the GNIB of the course you are studying and the length of time you intend to study.
3. Once the GNIB has this letter you have to wait 8 working days before you can then apply for your student visa in person at the GNIB building on Burgh Quay, Dublin 2.
* Please note: The school must send a registration letter to the GNIB before you apply for your visa in person.*
To apply for your visa please go to the GNIB building with the following:
• Your passport. • €150 to pay for your visa. * • A bank or post office statement that shows you have sufficient money to support yourself.
* You may pay the 150 euros fee with your credit/debit card or you can pay it in cash at the bank.
If you pay with credit/debit card you will need to go to the Immigration Bureau only once. In this case you show your documents, pay the fee and wait to get your visa on the same day. If you want to pay in cash at the bank you will have to go to the Immigration Bureau, show your documents and get a form to pay the fee at the bank. Then you have to go to the bank to pay, and return to the Immigration Bureau to show your payment receipt and get your visa.
The opening hours at the Immigration Bureau are as follows: Monday to Thursday – 8.00 to 22.00 Friday – 8.30 to 16.00
