The First Day of School
On their first day all new students are greeted by a school representative and the Director of Studies. Each student completes a spoken and written placement test to determine the best class for him or her. Before they start class, students are also welcomed by the Welfare Officer and given an information pack containing an introduction to the school, helpful hints and tips on studying and living in Dublin and a map of the city. After class there is a guided tour of the city centre to help familiarise students with their new environment and settle them into life in their new city. This tour normally ends in a traditional Irish pub where students can have a glass of Ireland’s most famous drink, Guinness!

Insurance
We advise all students to take out sufficient medical and personal insurance before they arrive in the country. EU citizens should bring an E111 form with them for medical insurance purposes. If you are from outside the EU, medical insurance can be arranged through the chool. Students are not insured by the school or host family against illness, theft or the loss of personal possessions.

Visa Requirements
If you are an EU citizen you do not need a visa to enter Ireland. If you are from outside the EU, whether or not you require a visa will depend on which country you are from and how long you wish to stay in Ireland. Please contact the school or your local Irish embassy for further information.

School Holidays
The school is closed on all public holidays and for two weeks over Christmas.

Cancellations
