Some scholars suggest Dublin dates as far back as the first century BC, though the town was established proper in the 9th century under the Vikings. Dublin has many of the advantages of a larger city while retaining the charm and tradition of a smaller one. With increased prosperity the city has been attracting more and more people from all over the world to live and work here, and today it boasts a cultural diversity to match the most cosmopolitan tastes.
